Rendering - Greens Plasterer's render the outside of buildings. Rendering is a skilled art with two or three, coat render of sand and cement. For a smooth finish, the final coat is rubbed up with a float or trowel. Pebbledash is created by thickening the final coat and then dashing (throwing) pebbles into the mixture and pushing them home with a trowel. Tyrolean is created by a hand held machine that dashes a mixture of pebbles and render onto a first coat of render.

Pebble Dashing - Also known as roughcast is a coarse plaster surface used on exterior walls of a property. This consists of lime mixed with cement, sand, gravel, pebbles and shells. These materials are mixed together and thrown at an exterior surface with a trowel/scoop. An even layer is used to maintain the look which is lump free, has no ridges and does not missing any background.

Plastering over Artex - Artex is a thin coating of tough plaster used on walls and ceilings. It's roughened surface or swirls are often found in older properties. Removing Artex is laborious work and a thin coat of new smooth plaster makes the difference. Skimmed artex with mixed plaster to a carrying board gives the surface a final smoothing.

Dot and Dab - Dot and dab plastering is a method in which you stick plasterboard to masonry walls using dabs of adhesive. The plaster you use to stick the boards to the walls is called 'bonding compound.

Coving - A decorative cornice, columns, skirting boards, corbels and ceiling roses. There is a vast array of coving available from the traditional to the contemporary. Flexible coving and architectural mouldings suit any room or property style. Coving can also be used to conceal any surface cracks or settlement cracks where wall and ceiling joints meet.
